Under the Republican leadership of the NCGA, North Carolina has pushed forward with controversial, market-driven education reforms. This week we will be taking a closer look at school choice, teacher pay, the Innovative School District programme and the impact of the NCGA's legislation on class sizes.

We are going to start today with a primer on some of the most important topics.
