Math and gerrymandering, really? Turns out math can be a useful tool for assessing the fairness of district maps. In 2013, a team from Duke University started developing a method for analyzing district maps to determine what's fair and what's not. Guess what, NC's maps aren't fair - and their findings were used by the court to overturn parts of the 2016 Republican maps.
